Yes. Middle Men is completely free to use. We believe hiring should be open, accessible, and democratic. You don’t need to pay to browse, apply, connect, or message others. We’ll always offer a free tier. We do plan to roll out optional paid features to support creatives and producers, but the core platform will remain free.
We’re here to fix creative hiring. Middle Men connects vetted creatives with real opportunities—and now, we’ve opened it up so creatives can also connect, collaborate, and even hire each other. We’re not an agency, and we don’t take a cut—we’re a platform that makes it easier to find great people and get good work done.
Creative professionals working in fields like design, editing, illustration, animation, and production can apply. You’ll need to go through a vetting process before your portfolio is featured on the site.
We expect a minimum of 3 years of professional experience and at least 5 recent client-facing projects from the last 2 years. Qualifications vary by discipline, but your portfolio should clearly show that you’re an experienced, working creative who understands industry standards.
If you don’t meet the requirements yet, you can still apply under our Emerging category. It’s a space for rising creatives who are building their experience and want to connect with others or take on smaller projects. Once you have the required experience, you can reapply to have a professional portfolio featured on the main gallery. We want to support your growth every step of the way.
- For Creatives: Apply with your portfolio → get vetted → get featured → connect or collaborate.
- For Producers: Browse vetted creatives → reach out directly → handle project terms and payments off-platform.
There’s no fee, no commission, and no platform-involved hiring—we just connect the dots.
Yes. You can create multiple portfolios to reflect different skills or creative disciplines. Many users work across roles, and Middle Men lets you show the full range of what you do.
We’re not involved in payments or contracts, so we can’t mediate disputes. That said, we take vetting seriously. If a user violates trust or platform guidelines, they risk being removed. Always work with clear agreements and use trusted tools for payment and contracts.
Nope. We’re not a marketplace or agency. We don’t interfere in your deals, and we don’t take a percentage. You handle your own rates, invoices, and timelines.
We’re building optional paid tools and features to help streamline collaboration, organization, and discovery—but access to the platform and your ability to apply or connect will always have a free option.
Absolutely. Creatives can now search, message, and hire each other. Whether you need an editor, photographer, or second set of hands—just connect directly. We’re here to help the right people find each other.
Every applicant is manually reviewed. We look for strong, professional portfolios that meet our experience requirements, demonstrate real-world projects, and clearly communicate the creative’s skillset. Our goal is to maintain a high-quality standard
We believe access to opportunity shouldn’t be only for the few,

to bridge the gap, to empower creatives, and to build a stronger middle class for all artists.
